The Woodlands, TX — Are you at risk for DVT? The Woodlands Mall and Sadler Clinic are sponsoring a DVT (“ Deep Vein Thrombosis ”) discussion on Saturday, July 10, at 1 p.m. in Future Court across from JC Penny.
DVT or Deep Vein Thrombosis is a condition that results from the formation of a blood clot inside a vein that is surrounded by powerful muscles that contract to help bring blood back to the heart. These veins are called “deep veins”. Thrombosis occurs when the blood clot either partially or completely blocks the flow of blood in the vein. This condition is commonly located in the calf or thigh.
Dr. Carwile will address the meaning of DVT, the diagnosis, and most importantly, the prevention and treatment of the condition. One of Dr. Carwile's main goals will be to educate the public about the symptoms of DVT. These symptoms can be “silent” and virtually undetectable in up to 50% of the cases.
