Conroe, TX — Gear up for a season of fun at the Summer Head to Toe Health Show on Saturday, June 7th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in The Woodlands Mall. Sponsored by Sadler Clinic and The Woodlands Mall, the highlight to the health fair will be a discussion on Skin Cancer Awareness, presented by Sadler Clinic’s own Dermatologist, Dr. Amy Farmer.
Dr. Farmer will cover such topics as the three most common types of skin cancer, premalignant lesions such as actinic keratosis and dyslastic (atypical) moles, skin cancer prevention and sunscreen, and ways to reverse sun damage and rejuvenate the skin.
With cancer of the skin on the rise as the most widespread malignancy, sun protection and early prevention of skin cancer are of vital importance. The medical community estimates that nearly 15% of the U.S. population will develop some form of skin cancer. A severe sunburn increases that risk by 50%. (http://www.maui.net/~southsky/introto.html#is) If you have ever wondered how to detect and protect yourself against skin cancer, the effects of the sun on aging, or what levels of sun exposure are considered harmful, do not miss Dr. Farmer’s informative presentation at 1:00 p.m. in Center Court at The Woodlands Mall. Following Dr. Farmer’s presentation, she will be conducting free cancer screenings of the outer extremities (face, arms, legs) from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Sadler Clinic will be also be providing free cholesterol, glucose, and vision screenings, as well as free blood pressure checks.
