What is a Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner?
A Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner is a licensed and
nationally certified practitioner who works closely with our physicians
to provide quality medical care to patients.
Under the supervision and responsibility of a physician, the Physician
Assistant/Nurse Practitioner enhances patient care by:
- Obtaining patients’ medical
histories and performing physical examinations;
- Ordering and/or performing diagnostic and
therapeutic procedures including prescription writing privileges;
- Formulating a working diagnosis;
- Developing and implementing a treatment plan;
- Monitoring the effectiveness of therapeutic
interventions;
- Assisting in surgery;
- Offering counseling and education to meet
patient needs
